The new Thule Apex bicycle hitch rack installs into 2 inch receiver hitches or, remove the adapter to install into 1-1/4 inch receiver hitches.
The integrated cable lock extends from and inserts into the mast for quick and convenient bicycle security.
The bike cradles use soft rubber with a shock absorbing design. Rubber ripple straps secure the bike's top tube to the cradle and to the anti-sway strap down point for the bike's seat tube has rubberized contact points.
Lift the gray handle to quickly lower the arms in between uses.
The rack adds very little extra length to the vehicle with the arms folded down.
Another gray handle allows the mast to tilt down away from the vehicle to provide quick access to the rear hatch.
With the rack tilted down there lots of room to open and access the rear hatch.
A locking turn knob tightens a wedge inside the hitch to minimize rocking or wobble.
A retention pin prevents the rack from slipping out of the receiver.
Here's a view of the complet hitch assemble showing the turn knob, wedge, 2 inch adapter and retention pin.
