Pics & Vid: Toyota Tacoma with Thule 422XT Xsporter Truck Rack by Rack Outfitters

Here's a Toyota Tacoma that we outfitted with a Thule 422XT Xsporter truck rack.  The Tacoma has a bed rail track system that requires the use of a Thule XK1 Adapter Kit.  This Kit allows the rack to clamp to the track rather than clamp to the underside of the bed rail as it would on trucks without the bed rail track system.

Here is the front attachment.  It's important to note that the because this Tacoma is a short bed, as most are, the height adjustabillity is limited due to interference of the wheel well.  The height that is available, however, is ideal for most applications.

Here is the rear attachment and you can see that we set the upright in a cantilevered position to maximize the load bar spread.  This is a unique design feature of the Xsporter having it's own track system for the mounting hardware which allows for more mounting options.

With the Xsporter installed we added a Thule 810 SUP Taxi for up to two paddleboards.  The SUP Taxi positions the bottom paddleboard about 6 inches above the load bars.  The multi-height design of the Xsporter would allow the load bar to drop down one position to get the paddleboard closer to the cab height offering a lower lift height.  This is another totally unique benefit of the Xsporter.

Here we installed Thule 839 Get-a-Grip paddle carrier to the side of the Xsporter upright.  This is a much more easily accessible location for the carrier.  The Get-a-Grip includes 45mm carriage bolt which are too short for this mounting location.  65mm carriage bolts are required and available seperately.
